DON CUMMINGS On October 20, 2016 at the age of 88, Don passed away peacefully, commending his spirit to heaven. He will be forever missed by his wife Olga; daughters, Linda (Dennis) and Cindy; grandson Dustin; granddaughter Erin (Dan) and great-grandson Otis; brothers-in-law, Hans (Lucy), Victor and Ron; sisters-in-law, Beth and Shirley; as well as many nieces and nephews. Don was born in Mission City, BC, on January 16, 1928. He was the youngest of four siblings born to Gordon and Ethel Cummings. He married Olga Jorgensen on September 21, 1954. Last month they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Don worked in the gas industry for most of his working career. He enjoyed his work and retired at age 75 from Energy Consultants International as an inspector. Don enjoyed sports; he played badminton, bowled, curled and loved golfing. In later years he settled for watching curling, baseball and hockey on T.V. with his loving wife. He was known to make a few trips to the casino from time to time. Don also loved road trips with Olga, travelling throughout Canada and the United States. More than anything else he loved to spend time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandson were the apples of his eye. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and aids on 5-North at the Grace Hospital, who cared for Don in his final days. A funeral service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Dr. on Saturday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's honour may be made to Siloam Mission. To those who knew him well, he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest storytellers of all time. (Our Big Fish)
